Things to Do in Mankato During the Holidays

by | Nov 18, 2015 | Criminal Defense

The holiday season has arrived! In honor of our heritage we close out the calendar year with a little celebration of giving thanks. This time of year we remember all we have to be grateful for by hosting festivities filled with food, fun, and family. Not only do we get to celebrate in our own homes, but the greater Mankato area has much to offer its residents as well. Whether you are entertaining family this week or just looking to relax with friends, Mankato has something for everyone. In the spirit of the holidays we have compiled a list of some of the events taking place in and around Mankato this Thanksgiving season:

The First Annual Charley’s Thanksgiving Wine Tasting

If you are in the mood for something a little less family-friendly, and a bit more adult-oriented, there is a gathering for you. On Friday following Thanksgiving, November 27th, Charley’s Restaurant and Lounge is hosting its very first annual wine tasting. The night will begin at 6:00pm and tickets are selling for $20.00 each. The restaurant will have wine sampling, appetizers, live music and door prizes.

Holiday Clay Days

For a more kid-friendly event check out the Arts Center of Saint Peter on November 29th. The Center will host a family clay day allowing each family member to create their own holiday ornaments. The event begins at 2:00pm and lasts for two hours; just long enough to keep everyone’s attention!

A Very Schmekel Thanksgiving

On Saturday November 21st, the Loose Moose Saloon will host a mystery event with hors d’oeuvres and a three-course dinner. Until November 13th tickets will ring in at $50 per person, going up to $60 after that. The event is put on by Partners in Crime and will be at 6:00pm.

Small Business Saturday

After the fuss over Black Friday deals simmers down don’t forget about the little guys! If you find that you haven’t quite finished your holiday shopping, or just need a way to entertain some out-of-town relatives, consider supporting this shopping event. Small Business Saturday is a way for you to help family businesses in the greater Mankato area.

Kiwanis Holiday Lights

The day after Thanksgiving the Kiwanis Holiday Lights in Sibley Park will make their debut! The event kicks off at 6:00pm with a full holiday parade starring light up floats. The hosts collect donations of cash or canned goods to help support the less fortunate during the holiday season.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Whatever you do this holiday season our family at Kohlmeyer Hagen Law Office wishes you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving in Mankato!
